Is it possible to tell modern OSes not to cache thumbnails?

    Hello,

Hey, is it possible to tell current Windows versions, and Linux versions and such to not cache thumbnails?

There is the clear cache option in the gui. I am sure you could find it buried in the registry, or in group policy editor if you have pro.

My question would be, why would you want to do this? Do you like the extra time it takes to reload icons every time you access the desktop or a new file window?

Probably he doesn't want that thumbs.db file crapped into every directory anyone ever looked at.

Most likely. At least on some desktop managers. I presume.

I have to presume, although I have no thumbnails. I don't have any GUI file manager installed, and thus no place that requires thumbnails. Not the same thing, obviously.
